Domain Name Generator

Describe your idea and get domain names ranked by how strong they are, with availability and registration prices side by side.

Free. Names are ranked by how well they read and fit your idea, and only likely-available domains are shown.

How to use the domain name generator

  1. Describe your idea in a few words, like “online bakery” or “app for booking dog walkers”, or just type keywords.
  2. Adjust the keywords. Remove any that miss the point and add related words we suggest. Better keywords make better names.
  3. Pick styles and an extension, then browse the names. The strongest are at the top, with availability next to each.
  4. Save your favorites with the heart, and click Register to confirm availability and compare registrar prices.

What makes a good domain name

  • Short. Fewer letters mean fewer typos and a cleaner logo. Most strong brands are under 12 characters.
  • Easy to say and spell. If you have to spell it out over the phone, people will get it wrong. This is the “radio test”.
  • No hyphens or numbers. Nobody knows whether you mean “4” or “four”, and hyphens are easy to forget.
  • .com when you can. It is still the extension people type by default. For tech products, .io, .ai and .co are widely accepted.
  • Room to grow. “BestDogWalkersLondon” boxes you in. A name that suggests your idea without spelling it out lasts longer.

How we rank the names

Most generators list names alphabetically or at random. DomainWolf scores every name with the same engine behind our domain appraisal: length, real words, how easy it is to say, whether it contains words buyers search for, and whether it avoids hyphens and numbers. The strongest names come first, whatever style they are.

The names are built by transparent rules, not AI: your keywords combined with each other, with popular prefixes and suffixes, blended where their letters overlap, and shaped into short invented words. Run the same keywords twice and you get the same list.

About availability

To keep results fast, every name gets a quick check first: if the domain has no DNS records, we show it as likely available. When you click Register, we confirm it against the official registry record before you go anywhere. Some unregistered names are reserved or sold as premium domains by the registry, so the registrar’s checkout has the final word.

Found a name? Before you register

  • Check trademarks in the countries you will operate in. A name close to an existing brand can cost you the domain later.
  • Compare renewal prices, not just the first year. Cheap first years often renew at two or three times the price.
  • If your favorite is taken, look up its WHOIS record. If it is parked or expiring, the owner may sell, and an appraisal tells you what a fair offer is.

Questions

Is the domain name generator free?

Yes, with no account needed. A daily limit keeps automated scrapers away.

Do you earn money when I register a domain?

Some registrar links are affiliate links, so we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never affects the order: registrars are always sorted by the total of the first year and one renewal.

Does DomainWolf register domains itself?

No. We help you find and compare, then you register at the registrar you choose, directly in your own account.

Why do some names look made up?

Those are brandable names: short invented words built from the sounds of your keywords. Many famous brands started this way, and available .com domains are much easier to find in this style.
